This is the learning hub for the free and open-access research-led courses from the FQXi-Wolfram-Oxford ItBit Programme on Physical and Computational Sciences taught by scholars from leading institutions and aimed at expanding general knowledge of cutting-edge research related to foundational questions such as What is life? What is reality? What is Information?

The primary aim of this first course series is to acquaint the interested public with the latest developments in research with a computational slant into the most fundamental questions in the physical and biological sciences. Unlike traditional MOOCs, the ItBit programme focuses on cutting-edge research-led teaching, aiming to impart an understanding of advanced topics without neglecting the basics. The courses are not intended to cover established ideas found in regular textbooks.
